Mahatma Karamchand Gandhi or better known as Mahatma Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869 in Porbandar India. He was the main leader of India’s independence movement. He was also the architect of a form of non-violent civil disobedience that had huge impact to the world.

 

Porbandar was part of the British Empire. Gandhi studied law and advocated for the civil right of Indians which is under British rule. His father, Mr. Karamchand Gandhi hold the minister position in Porbandar and other states in western India. His mother, Putlibai,  was popular as religious woman. Influenced by his parent, Gandhi grew up to be religious person. He was a Hindu and following Jainism which is an ancient Indian religion that espoused meditation, non-violence and vegetarianism. Like his mother, he too had faste regularly during life.

 

Mahatma Gandhi was death in 1948 after murdered by a fanatic. He was popular as the greatest leader of India. His piloshopy was committed to non-violence, had a vegetarian diet, simple living-making his own clothes and fasting for self-purification. His action simply make a great inspiration for the modern human right movement around the world. He was also popular as iconic famous people. For many people, He is a role model.
