“Someday, we’ll run into each other again, I know it.

Maybe I’ll be older and smarter and just plain better.

If that happens, that’s when I’ll deserve you.

but now, at this moment….

you can’t hook your boat to mine,

because I’m liable to sink us both.”

~ Gabrielle Zevin, Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac

In couple of love stories, the road can be so complicated. It’s like what happen to Anna and Romy. Since the first start, they know exactly they have made for each other. They were childhood friends and been sharing their guts since that old days.

Unfortunately, they come from different grade. Anna was from rich family and perfection. Since she become teenager, her parent was so obsessed to have her daughter someday married to rich man from respectable family. Perhaps her parent wants her to married a politician, doctor or some disctric governor. They know their daughter is beautiful and brilliant girl, so it makes sense for them.

But love is not all about wealth or prestige. Since beginning to her teenager days, she knows it’s only Romy the only one she wants. Romy himself, who doesn’t come from family with wealth or prestige, is a man with promise. They grow up together, and Romy realize if he wants to get Anna, he must become someone big. He learns and works very hard to reach that level, so that Anna’s parent someday could approve the relationship.

In his junior high school, Romy is clever student. He works part time in the evening, still spend some good times to study at night and go to school in the morning with serious purpose. He pushes himself very hard indeed so he could get schoolarship to his favorite university. Anna knows very well that his future husband will make it true. She too hasn’t tried to tell her parent yet since they have too high expectation on her future partner. But she will do it in the right time. She herself has strong commitment to Romy, that whatever it takes, they will struggle to get together.
